Don’t be shy!

I had to go and get some groceries today, and whilst sitting in Lei’s Cafe at The Waterfront enjoying a coffee with no wife nor kids, I noticed a couple of people kept glancing furtive glances my way.

Either I’m one scary looking guy, or they were working out if they had read my blog, and trying to figure out if it was me or not, and wondering if they should ask..

Ask! Shout me a coffee or a beer, I don’t mind! 🙂

I answer so many questions, send lots of emails, and yet so many people rock up to Port Moresby and then never say Hi once they get here.

So if you see a tattooed kiwi (I have a large maori tattoo on my left forearm), sometimes wearing an All Blacks cap, commonly wearing rasta jandals, more often than not with a wife and 3 kids – girl10,boy8,girl3 – and always drinking coffee. Then don’t be scared, come share your story and let me know if this blog helped you out, and if there is something that you can add – how about a guest post 🙂

We are often sitting down at the Sails Cafe area (Yacht Club) on a Friday evening supervising our children playing whilst enjoying a cool SP or two – none of our friends bite either 🙂

Aussie TV in PNG

The worst thing here in PNG is having to put up with bloody Aussie TV… Really, I don’t get The Block, Home and Away should have been canned many years ago, and Aussie’s funniest Home Videos??? C’mon Australia – where the bloody hell are ya! You’ve copied US, British and Kiwi TV and quite frankly done a shit job at it.It’s sad – that we have to watch it here…. And so, TV ends up revolving around Discovery, Discovery Turbo, emtv, and the movie channels.What we want to see: Outrageous Fortune, Sparticus, you know – tv shows that are different… Poor PNG having to put up with this, and c’mon Aussie’s if you think I’m being harsh – let me know the best TV shows so that I can actually get entertained….And onto the biggest rant ever: the All Blacks vs Ireland rugby test this evening isn’t on free TV in Aussie (or PNG). wtf!! Union is bigger than AFL, or League – and only fox sports (which we can’t get here) is showing it… Wouldn’t be so bad if I could stream it, but with the cost of Internet….I always thought that kiwi TV was backward, until your only selection is 20 odd Australian channels… I’ll take tv1, 2 & 3 any day now 🙂

Dodgy Computer Engineers – start rant

Noted that today Feilding amputee and former computer technician 44yo Dean Mulligan, was found guilty of the murder of Marice McGregor.

Seriously, what is wrong with some IT people? It is reasonably regular that an IT person makes headlines because of things like fraud/theft: eg Mike Swann. And don’t get me started on the sick pricks that trade in Child Pornography. It’s odd, whenever I see headlines surrounding individuals with objectionable material on their computers – I say to myself… ‘bet he is in IT’ … And you know what – they are. WTF is going on here! Do IT people think that because they “understand” technology, that they can get away with this shit? And why is it IT people anyway? Do we really attract socially repressed individuals that do this? Wake up people! Just because you think you are more clever at this sort of thing than the next person – does NOT give you the right to be a criminal. There is always someone more clever than you that will catch you out…!

To the (now three) people that read this blog, please don’t tar all IT people with this brush – however if you are concerned about someone – speak up! As for Dean Mulligan – narcissism seems to fit, man up, stop making up stories and let her RIP.
